Imagine being on a simulated space mission, assigned a role in either Mission Control, or as a member of the flight crew on the space shuttle or space station. You are trained in your new role, then play your part to safely launch the shuttle to the International Space Station while negotiating the simulated challenges your instructors give you. Experiments are conducted in space and results recorded, before it’s time for the crew to safely return to Earth for a debrief session.
This is just one of the many exciting activities you’ll experience in your week long camp in the USA.
Each year, the International Space Camp holds one special camp to encourage international cooperation. It is available by invitation only to student and teacher ambassadors from selected countries. Student ambassadors from across the globe will attend the 2010 camp to be held from 24 to 29 July 2010. The two students chosen as Australia’s ambassadors will travel to and from Space Camp with the Australian teacher ambassador selected from the National Award recipients of the NEiTA ASG Inspirational Teacher Awards.
