The ASG Parents Report 2017 investigates the state of education in New Zealand from parents’ perspective.

The insights of New Zealand parents have been missing from discussions centred on education policy and funding, when in fact their ability to observe, analyse and link together all aspects of their child’s education makes their insight essential to the growth and evolution of childhood education.

That is why ASG and the Faculty of Education at Monash University, Melbourne, developed this study, to understand how parents feel about the current educational environment in meeting their children’s learning needs.

Now in its third year, the ASG Parents Report Card continues to evolve; probing deeper into emerging topics in education, such as internet safety and sexuality, which are promoting a shift in the mindset of all parents, teachers and policy makers.

It is our desire that the findings of this research, which are unique, will become an important part of the discourse on education matters.
